cOLLEGE READINESS. REAL LEADERSHIP. A REAL PATH TO COLLEGE.
Freedom Fellows is Inspire Life’s year-long college readiness fellowship for high school scholars ages 15–18. It is designed for young people who are motivated, curious, and ready to explore the college process but may not have access to the structured support needed to get there. This program is not just for students with the highest GPAs. It is for scholars with potential, drive, and a willingness to try.
Who This Is For
Freedom Fellows is for students who have been overlooked, underestimated, or locked out of advanced opportunities due to systemic and historical barriers.
Many of our fellows are the very students who would thrive in honors tracks, gifted programs, and college prep spaces if given access, but their brilliance is not always reflected in the metrics used to measure potential.
This fellowship changes that.
Like Freedom School, this program recognizes the barriers scholars face and intentionally creates space for those who deserve a real shot.

From Student to Leader
Fellows don't just prepare for college. They step into leadership on the way there. After completing the fellowship year, scholars return to Freedom School as paid Junior SLIs where they mentor younger scholars, model what it looks like to come from this community and pursue higher education, and earn a stipend that recognizes their service. That transition from student to leader is intentional. It means summer employment. It means visible leadership experience. And it means their college applications reflect not just potential but demonstrated commitment.
